Flex Wheeler – GENETICS X WORK ETHIC – Bodybuilding Motivation

Everything gotta be on point, not just your upperbody it gotta match It has to flow so you have to have the right matches It's rough and it doesn't happen overnight It's a lot a lot A LOT of hard work and dedication and perseverance I think we all can acknowledge it's not producing champions of our era I don't wanna be one of those guys and say our era was the greatest era of our sport But I tell you this it was probably one of the most competitive with the most incredible and outrageous physiques that ever walked the stage One of the hardest things is being really honest with yourself Whether you choose to run from a fight or to the fight Because I knew it was gonna be extremely challenging There is no way for me to fully know until I get into the workout Once I got into the workout it was purely a mental battle Of willing to go into that pain In my opinion still to this day that was the best physique EVER graced ANY stage in bodybuilding I always try to create my world as this harsh environment mentally I could go through all kind of hell and train my ass off, I can diet I created this outer world where this is normal To be unhappy, eating this crapfood, going into the gym, training every day This is normal Those people out there don't get it I'M BUILD FOR THIS I was very comfortable in that world and I knew I did my BEST

You go into the gym You want success You want results You have to do something about it, you just can't hope for it You can't expect it just to happen because you showed up You can't just expect it to happen because you did a few of these and a few of those And you know you ate some protein and all that stuff You have to take ACTION That you are NOT gonna go home a loser I would rather DIE Then acknowledge to myself that I'm that loser There is nothing that I won't do I love the squat rack To me it's like a different sport I mean the squat rack, the squat performance, the execution of the squat Is a different sport from powerlifting and from bodybuilding to me To me it's I have these feelings and emotional ties to the squat rack Everytimes I do squat it's sometimes I wonder if I'm gonna come back You wonder if you're gonna come back after all those reps I have every time so far I'm not talented It was LIFE and DEATH Either you live or you die Which one do you want? That was the decision If you want something bad enough If you want something BAD enough you can't let ANYBODY tell you that you CAN'T do something!! You will FIGHT to the DEATH to maintain your promise to yourself You have to demand it, you have to promise yourself This is it right here You have to promise yourself That you will NOT EVER BE A FAILURE You have to do a lot more than just show up You just can't show up, you just can't pretend You have to demand from the workout that you're gonna get results You have to have the results in your brain before you even get there It's gonna take ALL of you It's gonna take every ounce of your being EVERYTHING you got And if you give it any less than everything you totally got and your not totally spend You're not doing enough You PROMISED yourself You fkn promised yourself to be the best person you can be THAT'S what makes you train THAT'S what makes muscles grow Nobody fkn knows the secret THAT'S the secret It's who I am, it's what I do, It's what I'm good at And if you think you could have done more, you're a loser I do not EVER want to go home from the gym, going I'm a loser I could have done more

Bodybuilding Motivation – YOU CAN’T TRAIN LIKE A BEAST AND EAT LIKE A BIRD

I don't eat for taste you know I just eat for fuel, that's it I eat to get big, I don't care what it tastes like Anything for calories, That's why I think I've been so succesful I've been very open-minded with my training and most importantly my diet Like I said before I think diet is 80-90% of being a profesional bodybuilder You can't train like a horse and eat like a bird This rice cooker runs 24/7 That pasta gave me A PUMP I keep myself in this STRIKING ZONE So then when I do start back, dieting And I start adding them meals in My bodyweight goes naturally back up But then I start cutting back down And I come in every single year RIGHT ON THE MONEY I'm talking ounces Let's just get BIG! No hamburger FISH You can't just get results overnight Alright so this is meal number 5 5'O Clock 4 more meals to go I put on two pounds since yesterday, so I'm on my way back up Start bumping up my fats a little bit My bodyweight is just starting to climb now I may lose a little condition but that's ok When I'm dieting for a show it's a very very strict lifestyle I mean I'm up at 5 in the morning I'm training twice a day And I'm basically sleeping and eating and TUNNEL VISIONED There's no world, and THAT'S IT That's how I have to be to get ready for these shows Here we are post-training HARD WORK PAYS OFF Because if I'm not eating If I'm not sleeping If I'm not doing the right thing Then I won't win

Lee Priest – TRAIN AND GROW – Bodybuilding Motivation

Placings have never bothered me So whether I finished ninth in a show or second or 15th in the Olympia I just enjoy competing and training mostly Whether I place 9th, second or win a show As long as I'm in my best shape I can do well Big shoulders, big arms, tiny waist, huge legs When I started bodybuilding that's what I thought bodybuilding should be And you have all these people saying well that's overdone You know you shouldn't look like that But yet those people who say that are the ones who normally can't achieve it so that's why they say it Now bodybuilding is a long term sport People wanna get into bodybuilding and they have been training 6 months, 8 months, nothing is happening What am I doing wrong? But bodybuilding takes years Stick with it you know Some years, some months you might not see anything change The weights might not change, but then you just keep persevering Next month it will probably kick off again It's one of the things just give it time and train hard It WILL happen but it just takes time What I do love of bodybuilding is just that freaky look about them where you can't really believe that I look human So that's what I wanna look like eventually If I wasn't getting paid to do this I would still do this because I love the sport, it's not the money that makes me do it If I'm gonna come dead last, as long as the crowd is happy well that's all I'm happy about The most freakiest bodybuilder I've ever seen in person was Lee Priest at the time He was like 20, bro And he was fkn INSANE BIG He was crazy big, I've never seen anything like that The guy couldn't even walk he was so big I was like this kid is basically my age UNBELIEVEABLY BIG I've never seen anything like that in my entire life

Shawn Ray – FOCUSED ON MY GOALS – Bodybuilding Motivation

You have to become your own entity There's nobody that takes more pride And more focus and concern about my career than me Controlling the training and competition aspect, It certainly makes my job a lot more pleasureable because I am my own manager, I am my own promoter, and I am my own marketer Train by myself, I like it that way Train by myself, rely on myself It gets hard and it definitely gets lonely especially when you train by yourself a lot If I have any advice for any of these new jacks that are coming up, Or maybe this is your first opportunity to compete in the Olympia Take control of your career None of us are believing that any of these people or obstacles can stop us from getting to the top They all have the 1 common threat going through them And that's the one that's running through me as well Is dedication, commitment to excellence And trying to be the BEST What makes my competition preperation even more rewarding when it's all over with whether it's second, fifth or whatever Is knowing that I did it all single-handedly and by myself Found the desire and drive to get out of bed when I didn't want to, train when I didn't feel like it, This is why I do what I do And I hope one day maybe my physique will represent the masses I'm here to fight, I'm ready to get it on What bodybuilding is all about Bodybuilding is about building muscle and building size, there's no question But to the exclusion of symmetry, proportion, definition, presentation Gotta FLEX the muscle Get all the fibers and detail to come in as I'm on my low carb diet right now Trying to come in at 210 And as you can tell from the bags in my eyes Haven't been getting much sleep Been putting too much into my training When you start breaking it down and analyzing bodybuilding for what it's supposed to be The shape, the symmetry, the genetics, the BALANCE The pleasing tone of the skin, the color of the skin, the tiance on the muscles That frustration for me turns into power It fuels each and every one of my workouts That's why every year, whether I take it on the chin or not I GET UP and I COME BACK My preperation was much more SPOT ON and the focus was more INTENSE My training this year has been nothing but focused My mindset is that of a warrior only having to deal with me makes it a little easier to get up in the morning and train When you analyze the whole picture, beat them on detail, beat them on completeness Beat them on profesionalism, so There are areas I can beat the champ under That I pay special attention to Because of the weaknesses I have standing next to them Planning on improving that this year LET'S ROCK On this lonely isolated journey to Mount Olympus It took a lot of distractions off the actual eating, training, the daily grind and what it takes to become a champion It gives me even more respect for a guy like Ronnie Coleman, Flex Wheeler, Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, Nasser El Sonbaty That they can maintain a professional bodybuilding career at this level Let's see what the finished product looks like I've never felt like I was already READY

Dennis James – EFFORT DAY IN DAY OUT FOR RESULTS – Bodybuilding Motivation

I like to fully concentrate only on my training and my diet I stay in the room, I don't do nothing, I don't party I go to the gym 6:00 in the morning To do my cardio And when I do my cardio I picture myself what I look like on stage Looking at myself, you gotta know what you want It's just, you can't slide to the side a little bit If you're a 100% FOCUSED you gotta just do one thing You can't do 3/4 things at the same time It's just the way I like it OLDSCHOOL Still trying to train as heavy as possible NO MATTER WHAT I LOVE IT Legs is HARD In order to hang with Jay and Ronnie you gotta have SIZE You can't be small You can't be small and just be an aesthetic bodybuilder and hang with these big boys There's no way So you gotta be BIG, you gotta be FULL, and you still gotta have some kind of symmetry To stand next to these guys and to look good And that's the most important thing And I think I have it, if I can bring it If I can bring what I'm capable of I think I have something that everybody else is afraid of Make them grow I said to myself, this is the year where you have to show everybody that we can put it all together So that's what I'm trying to do I know there's a lot of haters out there I don't even wanna call them haters Who knows what they're hating on, it's just That they think I'm not good enough But it comes all down to myself I'm the one that makes the final decision I'm still coming! I've fked up so many times I DON'T GIVE UP Always try to come in and stick within your game plan, not go outside How I keep myself motivated? Every workout I pick the guy that I admire the most for that body-part that I train Let's say for instance BACK I would put on Ronnie Coleman and I take that motivation right to the gym when I train back The same thing I did with Kevin Levrone's shoulders Basically everybody What I'm doing in the end Is basically what I wanna do, not what people tell me to do So I never try to blame anybody but myself for my own short comings This is just what I'm trying to do, every year I'm training to come in the way I feel the best And the way I think I look the most impressive, and that is just when I'm heavy Not too heavy but you know I gotta be full And If I'm not FULL I just don't look as impressive Over and over again The best of the best
