About Genetix Arimidex 1mg
Anastrozole (Arimidex) is an aromatase inhibitor: it blocks the enzyme that turns testosterone into estradiol. It is a breast-cancer medicine.

How it works
By blocking aromatase it lowers estradiol throughout the body. In men this can also raise testosterone a little.
Half-life: about 2 days.

How levels rise and fall after a single dose, based on a half-life of about 2 days. Each mark on the axis is one half-life; after about five, almost none is left.

Clinical reference dose
Clinical reference: the breast-cancer label dose is 1 mg once a day. In men, doctors who prescribe it off-label use far smaller amounts, such as 0.25–0.5 mg once or twice a week, and only when estradiol is high on bloodwork.

Crashing estrogen is a common mistake. Low estradiol causes joint pain, low libido, poor mood and bone loss.

- Compared with exemestane, a different (steroidal) aromatase inhibitor.
- Used alongside testosterone only when estradiol is confirmed high, never by default.
- Not used together with another aromatase inhibitor.
Interactions to know
- Estrogen-containing medicines: work against it.
- Tamoxifen: lowers anastrozole levels; they are not taken together for breast cancer.
