About Vita Thymosin 10mg
Thymosin alpha-1 is an immune-signalling peptide from the thymus. As thymalfasin (Zadaxin), it is approved in some countries for hepatitis B and C and as a vaccine aid.
Vita: Each order is one vial holding 10 mg of freeze-dried powder. Mix it with bacteriostatic water before use.

How it works
It supports T-cell maturation and immune signalling.
Half-life: about 2 hours.
Release profile
How levels rise and fall after a single dose, based on a half-life of about 2 hours. Each mark on the axis is one half-life; after about five, almost none is left.
An illustration from the half-life only; real levels vary with dose, how it is given and the person.
Clinical reference dose
Clinical reference: where thymalfasin is approved, the dose is 1.6 mg under the skin twice a week. It is not approved in Canada.
Mixing: adding 2 ml of bacteriostatic water to this 10 mg vial gives 5 mg per ml. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 10 units (0.1 ml) then holds 0.5 mg.
Immune stimulation is not always wanted, for example with autoimmune disease.
These are reference amounts from labels and clinical studies, not a personal recommendation. A doctor sets the right dose for you, using your bloodwork.

Injection sites
Thymosin 10mg comes as a freeze-dried powder. Once it is mixed with bacteriostatic water, peptides like this are usually given subcutaneously (subQ): into the fat just under the skin with a short insulin needle, not into muscle.
- Muscle
- Subcutaneous fat of the belly
- Group
- Abdominal wall
- Volume (nursing reference)
- Up to about 1 ml per site
- Needle
- 4–13 mm insulin needle, 29–31G
Finding it. Anywhere on the belly at least 5 cm (2 in) from the navel, avoiding scars, stretch marks and the belt line. Pinch a fold of skin and inject into the fold.
Why people choose it. The most-used subcutaneous site: the most fat, easy to see and reach, and absorption is steady. It is the first site listed on the labels of weekly GLP-1 pens.
Watch out. Move each injection at least 2–3 cm from the last one to avoid lumps (lipohypertrophy).
- Muscle
- Subcutaneous fat of the thigh
- Group
- Thigh
- Volume (nursing reference)
- Up to about 1 ml per site
- Needle
- 4–13 mm insulin needle, 29–31G
Finding it. The middle of the front of the thigh, a hand-width below the hip and above the knee.
Why people choose it. Easy to reach seated and a good second site to rotate with the belly.
Watch out. Absorption can be a little slower than the belly, and heavy leg exercise straight after may speed it up.
- Muscle
- Subcutaneous fat over the triceps
- Group
- Upper arm
- Volume (nursing reference)
- Up to about 1 ml per site
- Needle
- 4–13 mm insulin needle, 29–31G
Finding it. The fleshy back of the upper arm, halfway between the shoulder and the elbow.
Why people choose it. Adds a third site to rotate through, so each spot gets more rest.
Watch out. Hard to pinch and reach on yourself; most people need a helper here.
Why these sites for Thymosin 10mg
Subcutaneous (subQ)- Belly first. The abdomen has the most fat and the steadiest absorption, and you can see what you are doing. The thigh and back of the arm are there to rotate into.
- Small volumes, short needle. SubQ injections are small (around 1 ml or less per spot). An insulin syringe (4–13 mm) reaches the fat without touching muscle; pinch the skin if you are lean.
- Rotate every time. Move each injection 2–3 cm from the last. Repeating one spot causes hard lumps under the skin that absorb unevenly.
Every time: wash your hands, wipe the vial top and the skin with alcohol and let it dry, use a new sterile needle and syringe, and never share. Get medical help for spreading redness, heat, swelling, pus, fever, numbness or pain that keeps getting worse. This is general reference information from standard nursing injection guidance, not medical advice; a pharmacist or nurse can show you the technique in person.
Combinations and interactions
Often compared or used with
- Sometimes discussed with TB-500 (thymosin beta-4 fragment), a different peptide.
Interactions to know
- Immunosuppressants: work in the opposite direction.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist about everything you take, including supplements, before adding anything new.
Side effects and risks
Injection-site discomfort
Mild, common.
Autoimmune concerns
Theoretical with immune-stimulating peptides.
Injection safety
Use a new sterile needle and syringe every time, wipe the stopper and skin with alcohol, and never share. Redness, heat or swelling that gets worse after a day or two can mean infection and needs a doctor.
Have had an organ transplant, autoimmune disease, or are pregnant.
In Canada: Thymosin alpha-1 is not approved by Health Canada for human use. It is sold as a research peptide.
