About Zionova Cytomel

How it works
T3 acts on almost every cell, raising energy use, heart rate and the breakdown of fat and muscle. An outside dose suppresses your own thyroid.
Half-life: about 2.5 days.

Clinical reference dose
Clinical reference: for hypothyroidism the label starts at 25 mcg a day, adjusted to 25–75 mcg a day using TSH and T3 bloodwork. Health Canada’s label warns that thyroid hormones must not be used for weight loss.
At doses above replacement, T3 burns muscle as well as fat and strains the heart.

Combinations and interactions
Often compared or used with
- Sometimes combined with clenbuterol for fat loss; both raise heart rate, so the risks multiply.
- In medical care it is occasionally added to levothyroxine (T4).
Interactions to know
- Warfarin: T3 increases its effect.
- Diabetes medicines: doses may need to rise.
- Calcium, iron and antacids: take them 4 hours apart from T3.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist about everything you take, including supplements, before adding anything new.
