Testosterone cypionate is testosterone with a cypionate ester, which releases it slowly over about a week. It is the form most often prescribed for TRT in Canada and the US.

Once the ester is cleaved, the body sees plain testosterone. It acts on androgen receptors, raises red blood cell production, and partly converts to estradiol and DHT. Natural production shuts down while you use it.
Half-life: about 5-8 days.
How levels rise and fall after a single dose, based on a half-life of about 5-8 days. Each mark on the axis is one half-life; after about five, almost none is left.

Clinical reference: Canadian and US labels for testosterone cypionate list 50–400 mg every 2–4 weeks for low testosterone. Most doctors now prescribe about 75–100 mg once a week (or half that twice a week) and adjust it with bloodwork.

Testosterone Cypionate 250mg is an oil-based injection made for intramuscular (IM) use: deep into a large muscle, not under the skin and never into a vein. Like every injectable we sell, it is made in MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides), a lighter, thinner oil than the grapeseed or cottonseed oil many labs use, so it draws up and pushes through a 25G needle more easily.
Finding it. Put the heel of your hand on the bony point at the top of the outer thigh (greater trochanter), index finger on the front hip bone (anterior superior iliac spine) and spread the middle finger back along the hip crest. The injection goes in the middle of the V between those two fingers.
Why people choose it. Nursing guidance now treats this as the preferred deep-muscle site for adults: thick muscle, a thin and predictable fat layer, and no major nerves or blood vessels in the target zone.
Watch out. Takes practice to find the landmarks on yourself; use a mirror or have someone help the first few times.
Finding it. Split the thigh between the hip and the knee into thirds; use the middle third, on the outer side of the front of the thigh.
Why people choose it. The easiest large muscle to reach and see when injecting yourself, seated, with good muscle bulk and well away from the major nerves and vessels.
Watch out. Stay on the outer side: the femoral nerve, artery and vein run along the inner front of the thigh. Some people feel it when walking for a day or two.
Finding it. Find the bony tip of the shoulder (acromion); the site is the thickest part of the muscle about 2.5–5 cm (2–3 finger widths) below it, centred on the side of the arm.
Why people choose it. Quick to reach and easy to expose, which is why vaccines go here. Good for small volumes.
Watch out. A small muscle: larger volumes hurt and can leak back. The axillary and radial nerves run below the safe zone, so do not go low on the arm.
Finding it. The traditional "upper outer quarter of the buttock".
Why people choose it. Large muscle and familiar, so many older guides still show it.
Watch out. Most nursing guidance has moved away from it: the sciatic nerve and superior gluteal artery are close by, and the fat layer is thicker, so the oil may not reach the muscle. The ventrogluteal site gives the same glute muscle mass with less risk.
Every time: wash your hands, wipe the vial top and the skin with alcohol and let it dry, use a new sterile needle and syringe, and never share. Get medical help for spreading redness, heat, swelling, pus, fever, numbness or pain that keeps getting worse.
