Cold weather rarely damages anabolic products, but it changes how some of them look. Injectable oils can thicken or crystallize, which reverses with gentle warming. Freeze-dried peptides handle cold well. The bigger winter risks are delays, parcels left in freezing mailboxes, and cracked vials.
- Crystals in oil: warm the vial in your hand or in warm (not hot) water and swirl until clear.
- Freeze-dried peptides are stable in the cold; avoid freezing them after you mix them.
- Track your parcel and pick it up promptly instead of leaving it outside overnight.
From November to March, much of Canada spends weeks below freezing, and parcels spend hours in unheated trucks, sorting plants and community mailboxes. Customers often message us in January about a vial that looks cloudy or has white needles inside. In nearly every case the product is fine. Here is what actually happens to each type of product in the cold, and what to do about it.
Injectable oils in the cold
Steroid esters are dissolved in a carrier oil, often with benzyl benzoate and benzyl alcohol to keep the compound in solution. When temperatures drop, the oil thickens and the compound can come out of solution as crystals. This is called “crashing.” Higher-strength products, such as 400 mg/ml blends, crash more easily because the oil is holding more compound.
How to fix crystallized oil
- Check the vial. Look for cracks in the glass and make sure the cap and stopper are intact. A cracked vial is no longer sterile and should not be used.
- Warm it gently. Hold it in your hand for several minutes, or stand it in a cup of warm tap water, around body temperature to warm bath temperature, for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Swirl, do not shake. Roll the vial between your palms until every crystal is gone and the oil is clear.
- Inspect against light. If any haze or crystals remain, warm it longer. Never use a vial that still has visible crystals.
- Store it warmer. Keep it at room temperature away from windows and exterior walls so it does not crash again.

Peptides and bacteriostatic water
Peptides ship as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder. In that form they are stable at room temperature for shipping and do well in the cold. The guidance changes once you add water: a reconstituted peptide belongs in the fridge, not the freezer, because repeated freezing and thawing can damage peptide chains. Our step-by-step guide on how to reconstitute peptides covers storage after mixing.
Bacteriostatic water can freeze in a very cold parcel. Let it thaw fully at room temperature, check the vial for cracks and the stopper for damage, and use it only if the vial is intact and the liquid is clear.
Tablets and capsules
Tablets are the least affected by cold. The main winter risk is moisture: a cold bottle brought into a warm house can collect condensation. Leave the sealed bottle to reach room temperature before you open it, and keep the lid closed tightly.
Once everything is inside, store it sensibly for the rest of the season. A closet or drawer in a heated room is ideal. Avoid the garage, the car, a windowsill or a cupboard on an outside wall, where overnight temperatures can still drop low enough to crash oils again. Keep products in their original packaging so lot numbers and expiry dates stay with them, and keep everything out of reach of children and pets. If you travel to a cottage or cabin over the holidays, carry vials in an inside pocket or an insulated bag rather than a cold trunk.
Delivery times in winter
We send a tracking number within 72 hours of payment. Orders are processed seven days a week, and weekend orders are packed on Sunday or Monday. Once in the Canada Post network, typical delivery times are:
| Region | Typical delivery (business days) |
|---|---|
| British Columbia | 1-2 |
| Alberta | 2-3 |
| Saskatchewan and Manitoba | 2-4 |
| Ontario | 3-4 |
| Quebec | 3-5 |
| Atlantic Canada | 4-6 |
| Territories | 5-10 |
Storms, holiday volumes in December and remote routes can add days. Ordering a little earlier than usual in winter means you will not run low while a parcel sits in a snowed-in depot.
Receiving parcels safely
- Follow the tracking so you know the delivery day.
- Collect it the same day from your community mailbox or post office instead of leaving it overnight at minus 25.
- Open it indoors and let vials reach room temperature before inspecting them.
- Inspect everything for cracks, leaks and crystals, and contact us with photos if anything is damaged.
Every order ships discreetly from inside Canada, with free Canada Post shipping on orders over $300.
- Crashed oil is fixable: warm gently and swirl until clear.
- Freeze-dried peptides tolerate cold; mixed peptides go in the fridge.
- Cracked vials are not sterile and should not be used.
- Pick parcels up promptly and order a little earlier in winter.
Frequently asked questions
Is frozen testosterone ruined?
No. Cold makes the ester crystallize, but warming redissolves it without changing the compound. Check the vial for cracks first.
Can peptides be shipped in winter?
Yes. Freeze-dried peptides are stable through shipping and are not harmed by cold. Store them as directed once they arrive.
What if my vial arrives cracked?
Do not use it. Take photos of the vial and packaging and contact us with your order number so we can sort it out.
