Ingredients

Method

  1. Roughly chop the walnuts. If the blueberries are frozen, thaw them for 10 minutes.

  2. Add the oats and milk to a small saucepan.

  3. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring often, for about 5 minutes until thick and creamy.

  4. Take off the heat and cool for 1 minute, then stir in the protein powder and ground flaxseed until smooth. Add a splash of milk if too thick.

  5. Top with chopped walnuts, the blueberries and a pinch of cinnamon.

Tips

  • Oat beta-glucan (about 3 g a day) is one of the few foods Health Canada allows a cholesterol-lowering claim for.

Swaps

  • Dairy-free: soy milk and plant protein.

Storing and reheating

Best fresh.
